Azerbaijan to introduce fines for using e-cigarettes in public places
Azerbaijan plans to impose fines for the use of electronic cigarettes in prohibited places, including streets and other public areas.
Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences are set to be discussed in the Legal Policy and State Building Committee of the Milli Majlis.
Under the proposed changes, a fine of 30 manats will be imposed for using e-cigarettes in prohibited areas.
Additional penalties are предусмотрены for the import, export, production, wholesale and retail sale of electronic cigarettes and their components, as well as for storage for sale. Individuals would face fines ranging from 350 to 500 manats, officials from 1,650 to 2,200 manats, and legal entities from 4,000 to 5,000 manats.
If adopted, the law is expected to enter into force on April 1.
