Azerbaijani citizen detained in Tbilisi for attempted murder of foreign national

An Azerbaijani citizen born in 1991, identified as N.A., has been detained in Tbilisi on charges of attempted intentional murder, Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.

According to the information, the investigation established that the accused inflicted injuries with a cold weapon on a foreign national born in 1997, identified as I.M., during a dispute and fled the scene. The injured person is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility.

As a result of operational search measures, the Azerbaijani citizen was detained shortly after committing the crime.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. If found guilty, the Azerbaijani citizen faces up to 15 years of imprisonment.
