President Aliyev receives Neuberger Berman CEO George Walker
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received George Walker, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of global asset management firm Neuberger Berman, in Baku.
The sides reviewed ongoing investment cooperation, emerging prospects in global capital markets, and pathways to expand long-term strategic engagement. President Aliyev highlighted the Strategic Partnership Charter signed between the governments of Azerbaijan and the United States in February as a defining milestone in advancing bilateral ties.
Discussions focused on the longstanding partnership established in 2016 between Neuberger Berman and the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ), reviewing allocations across private equity, private credit, and upcoming co-investment opportunities. Founded in 1939 in New York, Neuberger Berman manages $613 billion in assets, including over $170 billion in private market commitments covering more than 10,400 portfolio companies worldwide.
