Mollazade: Ending military aid to Baku would be against US interests

Congressman Brad Sherman’s call for an end to US military assistance to Azerbaijan is against American national interests. It only serves the interests of Armenian lobbying groups in the US, said Asim Mollazade, a member of Azerbaijan’s parliament.

“As a partner of the US, Azerbaijan cooperates with Washington in the fight against international terrorism. It is also a member of the international anti-terrorist coalition in Afghanistan,” Mollazade said. “Therefore, statements like these are not in keeping with US interests in the first place.”

Mollazade also said Sherman receives funding from various Armenian organizations.
