Three more Azerbaijani nationals fighting against government troops in Syria have been killed, APA news service said, citing rebel sources.

All three were members of the Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Nusra Front, according to the report.

Rebels posted pictures of the dead on their websites. One of them was identified as Urfan. The other two have yet to be identified.

Several dozen Azeris, most of them members of the Salafi community, have been reported killed in the Syrian civil war so far.

The Baku-based Board of Muslims of the Caucasus, the country's religious authority, issued a fatwa, or religious verdict, last week, banning Azerbaijani Muslims from joining the civil war.
