Azeri court jails members of “terrorist” group

The SeriousCrimes Court in Azerbaijan’s capital today imprisoned members of a radicalIslamic group seeking to carry out terrorist attacks in Baku ahead of theEurovision Song Contest in May last year.

SamirSaniyev, the ringleader, and two other members were sentenced to life inprison, the court said.

Twenty-sixothers received sentences of six to 15 years in prison.
