Turkish Stream no rival to Tanap: economy minister

Turkish Stream no rival to Tanap: economy minister
06.02.2015 12:58
Gazprom’s Turkish Stream natural gas pipeline project is not a rival to Socar’s Trans-Anatolia (Tanap) pipeline, according to Nihat Zeybekci, the Turkish minister of economy.

"Turkish Stream is not a rival but brother of Tanap,” Zeybekci told reporters in Baku on Feb. 5.

He rejected claims that Turkish Stream will not ever be realized.

"It is more than real,” he said.

The 660-km link with a capacity of 63 billion cubic meters of gas a year will be built in the corridor of the previously planned South Stream pipeline.

The first gas will be delivered via the link in December 2016.
