WhatsApp gets a new feature as service hits one billion downloads

There's been no official announcement, but WhatsApp voice call feature appears to be live again.
The service had already invited a small number of users to test the feature last month, but the window is open again for more fans to give it go.
According to tech website Android Police, voice calls can now be made over the popular messaging app although not everyone can use it.
Voice calling only works on Android devices with the latest update of WhatsApp.
And, even if you've done this, you still need to be invited by a friend to activate the service.
However, once up and running you'll be able to call your friends and family over the internet for free.
This news comes as WhatsApp revealed it's hit one billion downloads on Android.
CEO and co-founder, Jan Koum, revealed the news on his Twitter account and even boasted it's been achieved with just four people working on it.
WhatsApp is only the second non-Google app to achieve the insane download figures.
And the service now says it has 700 million active monthly users making it the biggest on the planet.
