Lost your smartphone?

Lost your smartphone?
17.04.2015 23:30
It's the feature that could save you the horror of lost smartphone.

Google now lets you simply search "find my phone" in your Chrome browser and in seconds a map will appear with your device's location.

Once you've tracked down your precious phone you can also call it via the web browser.

In a post on their website Google say: 'We’ve all been there — you’ve searched under your car seat, tossed around the sofa cushions and you still can’t find your phone.

'If you know where your computer is, you can now ask Google to find your Android phone from your desktop.

'If the pesky phone is hiding nearby, Google can ring it for you — or you can see it on the map if you, say, forgot it at the bar.

'Just make sure you’ve got the latest version of the Google app!

This new feature only works with Android phones and you must have "Location" switched on in settings.

You'll also need the phone to be linked to your Google account and you must be signed into the Chrome browser.

Daily Star Online has run a quick test and Google tracked our phone to within 22 meters.

However, when we tried using the "ring" feature our phone stayed silent, so it's not going to work for everyone.

Even without the call feature working it's still handy option and we're sure it'll get plenty of use.
