Belgian companies keen to expand energy cooperation with Azerbaijan

The president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovnaq Abdullayev, has met the Belgian secretary of state for foreign trade, Pieter De Crem.

Abdullayev briefed Crem about the activities of SOCAR. He stressed the importance of projects being carried out by the company. He said the Southern Gas Corridor will play an important role in ensuring the energy security of Europe.

Pieter De Crem, in turn, said he was aware of the activities of SOCAR.

Representatives of Belgian companies said they were interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields, especially in the energy sphere.

Abdullayev said foreign investments were protected in Azerbaijan, saying there was a good environment for cooperation.
