Bet you didn't know about WhatsApp's awesome new feature

The new search option has just appeared in a recent update to WhatsApp and it's mightily useful.

Users can now search through all of their messages for specific words which have been used in previous conversations.

Until now, you could only look for a specific string of text or a phrase in one conversation, but it's now possible to root through all of your WhatsApp texts.

To use the feature simply tap Chats at the bottom of the screen, then type a word into the search bar.

You'll then be shown all the messages in your history that contain that word.

This new feature is the latest in a raft of changes hitting the Facebook owned service.

Voice calls and chatting via your web browser have all helped to keep WhatsApp in the messaging top spot.

But it's not all good news for WhatsApp fans as the service was ranked as one of the worst tech companies for protecting data.
