Russian army launches ballistic missile at Kyiv

Several explosions were heard in Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, throughout the night amid the ongoing air raid alert, reported from Ukrainian media.

Mayor Vitaly Klitschko confirmed that a number of blasts rang out in the city's Holosiivskyi district.

According to officials, emergency power cutoffs are often introduced amid Russia's attacks to avoid significant damage to energy infrastructure.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said similar measures were put in place in the capital and that currently, around 15% of consumers are without electricity in the city following an explosion in Kyiv's central Holosiivskyi District early in the morning on March 9.

Overnight Thursday, an air alert was announced throughout the territory of Ukraine.

In the early hours of Thursday, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration said air defense systems were activated in the region, engaging incoming targets.
