Andrey Kostin, head of the board of VTB Bank, has paid a visit to Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku.

Kostin today met President Ilham Aliyev, the head of the State Oil Fund (Sofaz), as well as the ministers of tax and economy, according to state news agency Azartac.

Following the meetings, the VTB head said he had “extremely fruitful” talks with Azeri officials. 

The bank is seeking to draw investments in the region, particularly in the real sector of the economy, Kostin said, adding that President Aliyev expressed support for that.
