FIFA President Gianni Infantino arrives in Tashkent ahead of U-20 World Cup 2027

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has arrived in Tashkent on a working visit to assess Uzbekistan’s preparations for the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2027, which the nation will co-host alongside Azerbaijan. 

Infantino landed at Tashkent Humo International Airport on a private flight from Baku aboard a Qatar Executive Gulfstream G650ER. The delegation was greeted on arrival by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Sports Adkham Ikramov and First Vice-President of the Uzbekistan Football Association Ravshan Irmatov.

During the visit, the FIFA chief is scheduled to inspect key sporting infrastructure across Tashkent and review organizational arrangements for the upcoming youth tournament.
