Sale of tickets for the Formula 1, to be held in Baku, is going on normally, Nigar Arpadarai, head of marketing and communications at Baku City Circuit (BCC), told Trend Jan. 9.

Arpadarai reminded that the tickets are on sale with a special 30-percent discount from Dec. 1, 2016 until Jan. 31, 2017.

"As of today, tickets have been sold to buyers in 24 countries,” she noted, adding that most of them are bought in Russia, European countries.

Arab countries also show big interest in the competition, noted Arpadarai.

"We think that once the concert program is announced, the ticket sales will increase,” she said.

Interest in this event has increased in the world as compared to the previous year, she added.

"Because, last year it was the first time that Baku hosted the competition. Currently, the ticket sales are higher than in the previous year,” said Arpadarai.

She noted that all the work related to preparation for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix is being carried out in line with the plan.

The 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held on June 23-25, 2017, in Baku.
