High-ranking military leaders from Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia, participants of the first trilateral meeting in Ankara, agreed to establish a new Trilateral Co-ordination Group, a communiqué published on the Azerbaijani defence ministry's website on 4 May announced.
During his visit to Ankara, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Azerbaijani defence minister, met with Army General Necdet Özel, chief of General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, and Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze, chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces.
The protocol signed highlights the group's key directives to hold joint exercises and to expand co-operation in the fields of military education and medicine.
