Turkish and Azerbaijani armies on May 12 started joint military exercises in Baku and Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan region, the Defense Ministry in Baku said in a statement.
The exercises, which will continue until May 16, are being held as part of a military cooperation agreement between Turkey and Azerbaijan, the ministry said.
The first phase of the exercises held in Nakhcivan was overseen by Azeri Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov and Turkish Third Army Commander Ümit Dündar.
