The US State Department considers the training of the Ukrainian pilots to fly in Western fighter jets an important process, the Principal Deputy Spokesperson at the Department of State, Vedant Patel, said at a briefing on May 15.

"Look, there is an important process as it relates to the alliance of a number of countries providing important security assistance to our Ukrainian partners. We are all unified in our goal of doing collectively everything that we can to ensure that Ukraine has the assets to defend itself, to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty. And you have seen a number of countries step up and share systems, train individuals, and we look forward to deepening our partnerships in order to do that and play our role as well,” the Deputy Spokesperson said.
