Russia cannot allow threats in its historical territories, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with public on January 25, reported from TASS.

He claimed that the purpose of the war with Ukraine was to protect Russia.

The head of state also said that student construction groups are involved in the restoration of the occupied regions.

Russia started the invasion of Ukraine on February 24 last year.
