What Fifty Shades Of Grey fans WON'T find in the new film

Fans of Fifty Shades Of Grey are purists in the least pure sense of the word.

Open one of the many millions of copies of E L James's book that have been sold around the world at random and the odds are that it will naturally fall open at one of the x-rated sections of the story.

But the enthusiasts keen to see the smuttier scenes faithfully copied onto the silver screen in the Hollywood blockbuster later this month are likely to be very disappointed.

The movie's director Sam Taylor-Johnson has made no secret of the fact that her adaptation of the famous love story is precisely that... an adaptation.

So far no one apart from Taylor-Johnson and her crew have been seen the finished product as there are no screenings ahead of the film premiere on Valentine's Day.

The tampon scene:

The few Brits that haven't already read the book might be a bit confused to learn that a sanitary product is a key part to one of the scenes.

In one chapter, Christian removes Anastasia's tampon himself before they have sex.

And while fans of the book might be enraged at the cut, Taylor-Johnson has revealed that there was never any chance that it would make it into the film version.

'It didn't make it into the movie,' she told Variety, 'It was never even discussed.'

The movie's producer was in agreement, telling the magazine that the studio didn't feel that they needed to replicate all of the grittier aspects.

Michael De Luca said: 'The book needed to put you in Ana's shoes to be a successful experience, the movie didn't need to do that. It's a completely different medium.'

The nudity:

As a book, Fifty Shades Of Grey regularly referenced full-frontal nudity and Christian was described in detail as he pulls on a condom.

But anyone hoping the same will apply to Jamie Dornan's portrayal of the controlling businessman will leave the cinema feeling cheated.

The director saved Jamie's blushes and at no point does the viewer see him completely naked.

He told GQ: 'Your dignity is intact as much as it's all tucked away in a little flesh-coloured bag.

'As a guy you put all your essentials in a little bag and you tie it up like a little bag of grapes and it's tucked away.

'It's quite a peculiar thing to do every day.'

But even without the use of the costume department, Jamie was guaranteed from the start that his crown jewels would never be on show as it was written into his contract.

He told the Guardian: 'There were contracts in place that said that viewers wouldn’t be seeing my todger.'

The detailed foreplay:

In the book, E L James regularly refers to very detailed foreplay, including oral sex and masturbation.

She also describes Anastaia being subjected to a sexy toy involving silver balls and the sensation it causes when used on her.

While the film has been classified as an 18, it is clear that the film producers would have been unable to allow any of the scenes above without the project being linked to porn.
