Introducing Mack's most expensive truck EVER

Introducing Mack's most expensive truck EVER
29.05.2020 01:17
It was made for a Malaysian Sultan who needed something sturdy to tow his speedboat and cost a reported $1 million.

This is the most expensive-ever Mack truck.

The custom-built rig was commissioned by Sultan Ibrahim Ismail of the Malaysian state of Johor and, among its many features, is adorned in colors representing the Johor flag - red, white and blue.

But take a look inside and there's so much more.

Built in Brisbane, Australia, the sleeper cabin has been expanded to fit a fold-out double bed, refrigerator, cooking grill, a six-camera CCTV system, two flat screen televisions, wooden floors and cabinets with stone-covered tops, according to Big Rigs.

Then there is a sun deck out back, with space for deck chairs, umbrellas and a pull-out BBQ.

Sultan Ibrahim Ismail commissioned Mack Trucks Australia to build the Super-Liner tractor so that he could tow his private speedboat around Malaysia.

Company vice-president Dean Bestwick flew to Singapore to hold a meeting with 'His majesty' a year ago to talk about the design brief.

'The fanciest extra in most Aussie trucks is a microwave or a small fridge,' Bestwick said.

'We'd never contemplated the features that have been included in His Majesty's truck.

'This is the most luxurious truck to have been built in Australia and probably the planet.'
Mack Trucks would not reveal the price of the vehicle.

However, considering the previous record price tag for a Mack was $350,000, the Sultan is thought to have paid over $1 million.

The truck has a maximum speed of 100 km/h.

Sultan Ibrahim thanked the Mack team for the way they sculptured his vision for the truck.

'I have always appreciated Australia's engineering skills and have collected a few Holden cars over the years,' the Sultan said.

'Mack has done a wonderful job and I'm looking forward to showing its workmanship to the people of Johor as soon as the Super-Liner is shipped over.'

The Sultan recently flew to Australia to witness its unveiling of his truck.

A team from Mack will now fly to Singapore to help unload the truck, which is being shipped over.

The team will then take it for a test drive and make sure it is capable of towing the Sultan's speedboat.
