The car of Italian investigative journalist Sigfrido Ranucci was blown up in Rome, news agency ANSA reported. Ranucci, who has been under police protection since 2014 due to mafia threats, was unharmed.

The blast occurred about 20 minutes after he entered his home. His car and a nearby building were damaged. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni condemned the attack as “a crude act of intimidation” and expressed solidarity with the journalist. The interior ministry ordered increased protection for him and his family.
