Ukrainian Ombudsperson Lyudmila Denisova has been barred from visiting former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili in jail.
On Tuesday, the Georgian Minister of Justice Rati Bregadze told a briefing that the Georgian legislation does not provide for such cases.
"The Georgian legislation does not allow the access of a human rights commissioner from Ukraine. There is no need for that. For this reason, the ombudsperson's access has been denied yet," Bregadze said.
