About 7,000 members of the law enforcement and security forces have been injured during the riots in Iran, said Zohreh Elahian, a member of the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, reported from Mehr.
"The security forces were not allowed to use weapons against the rioters, and because of this, about 7,000 security and law enforcement officers were injured in recent unrest,” Elahian noted.
Iranian authorities accuse Western countries of supporting the protesters. Law enforcement agencies are carrying out mass arrests of people recruited by the intelligence services of Western countries, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
