Russia seeks to actively participate in the global climate process, Russian President Vladimir Putin said while opening the summit meeting as the host, the correspondent from Kazan informs.

"Russia seeks to actively participate in the global climate process, and its energy balance is one of the greenest in the world," he said.

The Russian president also believes that the UN structure should be adapted to modern realities, noting that countries from Asia, Africa, and Latin America should have greater representation in the UN Security Council.
