Chinese tutor with 400 students dies from stress days before wedding

A young Chinese tutor, reportedly teaching 400 students, died from stress and exhaustion just days before his wedding, South China Morning Post reported on Saturday.
The tutor, identified only by his surname Li, was found dead in his company's office in Wuhan. He had been working overtime for several days to complete tasks before his upcoming wedding leave.
On April 22, after failing to show up on time for work and being unreachable, Li’s fiancée alerted the police. The next morning, an office cleaner discovered his lifeless body. Doctors confirmed the cause of death was sudden cardiac arrest. The couple had planned to marry on May 2.
Li worked at a major online education platform offering English and math tutoring to schoolchildren, with over 160 million users. Although the company said May 11 was a holiday and no overtime was required, former employees said Li regularly taught hundreds of students, answered numerous parent inquiries, and often worked six or more hours of overtime daily. Staff were reportedly required to log all restroom and meal breaks.
