Software issue caused Starlink outage, says company executive

A software-related problem caused a widespread outage in the Starlink satellite internet service, company vice president Michael Nichols said on Thursday.
The disruption lasted around 2.5 hours and services have now been largely restored, Nichols added.
Users in several countries had earlier reported connection issues with Starlink. According to monitoring site Downdetector, 60% of complaints were about disrupted internet access, while 40% reported a complete loss of connection.
Approximately 63,000 users in the United States reported issues, with outages also recorded in the UK, Australia, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.
