In Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska, protests are scheduled against the planned meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15.

The political group Stand Up Alaska announced a rally under the slogan "Alaska stands with Ukraine" on August 14, a day before the summit. Organizers say they intend to send a clear message to both Trump and Putin, expressing strong opposition to authoritarianism.

A call for local residents to join the protest against Putin’s visit is posted on the group's Facebook page.

Earlier, Trump confirmed that the meeting with Putin would take place in Alaska. In July, he threatened to impose 100% secondary tariffs on Russia and its trading partners if a ceasefire in Ukraine was not achieved. The deadline was later shortened, but sanctions have not yet been imposed due to Putin’s offer of a personal meeting.
