Ilsky oil refinery in southern Russia halts operations amid economic and logistics challenges
The Ilsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region has temporarily shut down part of its production facilities, citing scheduled maintenance and equipment servicing, the company said.
However, industry sources report broader challenges, including difficulties selling refined products and declining processing volumes. Economic instability, Western sanctions, and delays in upgrading infrastructure have further disrupted the refinery’s operations.
According to some estimates, it may take several months to fully restore production. Russian media outlets say no official timeline has been given for the plant's reopening.
Ilsky refinery is a key fuel supplier in southern Russia, and the shutdown may affect regional fuel markets and delivery logistics.
