Nearly two-thirds of Americans disappointed with Trump — NBC News poll
A majority of Americans — 63% of voters — are dissatisfied with President Donald Trump’s handling of the economy, according to a new NBC News poll.
The survey, conducted October 25–28 among 1,000 registered voters, showed rising frustration: 65% said Trump has failed to protect the middle class, while 66% expressed dissatisfaction with how he is managing inflation and the cost of living.
The president’s approval rating fell by 4 points since March, to 43%, while 55% disapprove of his performance.
Amid a month-long U.S. government shutdown that has disrupted social programs, including SNAP food assistance, voters are also losing confidence in Republican lawmakers.
With one year until the 2026 midterm elections, Democrats lead Republicans by 8 percentage points — 50% to 42%. However, opinions remain split on which party can better manage the economy: 38% favor Republicans, while 37% back Democrats.
