Strong earthquake hits Afghanistan
A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Samangan Province in northern Afghanistan, the Seismic Monitoring Center of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
According to seismologists, the quake occurred at 1:29 a.m. local time (12:29 a.m. Baku time). Tremors at the epicenter reached 7 points in intensity, with the focus located 10 kilometers deep.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage so far.
