UN lifts sanctions on Syria’s interim president al-Sharaa
The UN Security Council has adopted a resolution removing Ahmad al-Sharaa, Syria’s interim president, and Anas Khattab, the interior minister in the transitional government, from its sanctions list, Reuters reported.
The resolution, drafted by the United States, was backed by 14 of the 15 Council members, with China abstaining.
