U.S. Treasury Secretary expects real income growth next year
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said inflation is likely to ease in the first half of 2026, leading to an increase in real incomes. He made the forecast in an interview with Fox News.
“I would expect to see the inflation line moving lower in the first two quarters, along with a significant rise in real incomes. When those lines intersect, Americans will feel it,” Bessent said.
He added that small businesses are likely to experience “a big 2026” in terms of growth.
