13.03.2026 09:30

Greek Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday that its embassy in Tehran has been relocated to Baku, Azerbaijan.

The ministry's spokeswoman Liana Zotu said that the move was related to the deteriorating security situation in the Iranian capital, which does not allow the diplomatic mission to operate safely.According to the report, there is no request for the return of Greek citizens from Iran, as the number of Greek citizens living in Iran is very small and mainly related to family members and employees of the diplomatic mission.

Details of the relocation are not disclosed for security reasons and the process is ongoing.
