At least 14 people were killed and four others remained missing after flash floods hit Indonesia’s North Sulawesi province, officials said on [day].

Heavy rains triggered flooding on Siau island, part of the Siau–Tagulandang–Biaro region, destroying hundreds of houses and several government buildings, according to authorities.

At least 444 people have been evacuated and are being sheltered in local schools and churches.

Sixteen rescuers have been deployed to search for the four missing people, while authorities said 18 others were injured.
