Russia attacks bus carrying Ukrainian miners, 16 killed
Sixteen people were killed after a bus carrying Ukrainian miners was hit in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukraine’s Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba said.
“The enemy attacked a bus that was transporting miners from their workplace after a shift. Sixteen people were killed and others were injured. These were people who were simply working and returning home,” the minister said, offering condolences to the victims’ families.
Earlier reports said a Russian drone struck a company bus on the evening of February 1 in the Pavlohrad district of the Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the head of the regional military administration Oleksandr Hanha and Ternivka deputy mayor Oleksandr Dobrovolskyi, the strike was carried out by an unmanned aerial vehicle near the bus of one of the enterprises.
Ukraine’s National Police confirmed that the bus caught fire after being hit by the drone. The number of injured is being уточняется.
