Russian Railways says grain shipments to Armenia via Azerbaijan become regular
Shipments of Russian grain to Armenia via the infrastructure of Russian Railways have become regular, the company’s First Deputy CEO Sergey Pavlov said following a board meeting.
The company plans to further expand transportation along the route, he said.
Pavlov recalled that in November 2025 the first grain train in many years was dispatched from Russia to Armenia. This became possible after transit restrictions through Azerbaijan were lifted.
Russia’s Transport Ministry previously said the initial shipment consisted of 15 grain wagons carrying wheat. By the end of January 2026, an additional 132 wagons were planned to be transported along the same route.
The parties are also considering expanding transportation to other types of cargo.
