Ban on Russian-language literature in Ukraine
Ukraine’s State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting is preparing a draft resolution to establish a mechanism for withdrawing publishing products from Russia, as well as books produced in the Russian language, from circulation. This was announced by Ukraine’s Culture Minister Tetyana Berezhna.
According to her, the current publishing law already prohibits the distribution of materials promoting war, violence and totalitarian regimes, justifying the occupation of Ukrainian territories, portraying the aggressor state positively, or containing anti-Ukrainian narratives.
The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine is now working on a mechanism to implement these provisions. Earlier, Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko said legislative changes could be considered subject to detailed review.
