Pakistan is ready to act as a mediator between Iran and the United States, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said after a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Sharif described the conversation as “warm and constructive” in a post on social media platform X.

He welcomed Iran’s engagement in high-level talks, including a delegation’s visit to Islamabad, as well as recent contacts between Iranian leadership and Pakistan’s military command in Tehran.

The Pakistani prime minister also said he shared details of his recent meetings with leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey.

Sharif said Pakistan, with support from its partners, remains committed to playing the role of an “honest and sincere mediator” in promoting peace and stability in the region.
