Erdogan offers Trump support after Washington attack

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump after an attempted armed attack at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, the Turkish presidency said.

Erdogan described the incident as “a vile act against democracy and press freedom” and wished a speedy recovery to the injured security officer.
