Iran offers U.S. phased talks focused on war, Hormuz before nuclear issue

Iran offered the United States a proposal through Pakistani mediators to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the war, while postponing nuclear negotiations to a later stage, Reuters reported, citing Axios and sources familiar with the matter.

In essence, Tehran proposed a phased approach: first de-escalation and Hormuz, with the nuclear file left for later. Reuters said the proposal was confirmed by a U.S. official and two other sources cited by Axios.
