CNN: Iran may send revised proposal to U.S. in coming days
Pakistani mediators expect to receive a revised Iranian proposal in the coming days aimed at ending the war with the United States and Israel, CNN reported, citing sources familiar with the mediation process.
The new proposal is expected after U.S. President Donald Trump rejected an earlier Iranian plan, which sought to separate key issues and first address a ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz before moving to Iran’s nuclear programme.
According to CNN, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to consult Iran’s leadership before passing the revised proposal to Pakistani mediators for delivery to Washington.
Reuters earlier reported that Trump’s national security team was reviewing an Iranian proposal focused on ending the war, reopening Hormuz and delaying nuclear talks until after the conflict.
