UAE extends partial flight restrictions
The United Arab Emirates has extended partial restrictions on flights in its airspace, which were introduced in March because of the U.S. and Israeli military operation against Iran, TASS reported, citing a source in Middle East air traffic control services.
The UAE airspace will remain partially closed at least until noon GMT on May 4, or 4:00 p.m. Baku time, the source said.
Several special corridors remain in place for flights to and from UAE airports. Separate routes have also been designated for aircraft flying to and from airports in neighbouring Qatar, as well as for transit flights crossing UAE airspace.
UAE aviation authorities had earlier warned foreign airlines of possible operational risks. Airlines planning flights to the country must submit a risk assessment and obtain notification from the UAE regulator. The procedure is expected to remain in force until around May 7.
