U.S. President Donald Trump said on Truth Social that, following requests from Pakistan and other countries, the United States has agreed to temporarily pause “Project Freedom,” an operation related to the movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump said the decision comes after what he described as “tremendous military success” during the campaign against Iran and “significant progress” toward a complete and final agreement with Iranian representatives.

He added that while the blockade remains fully in force, the suspension of the operation will last for a short period to determine whether a final agreement can be reached and signed.

"Based on the request of Pakistan and other Countries, the tremendous Military Success that we have had during the Campaign against the Country of Iran and, additionally, the fact that Great Progress has been made toward a Complete and Final Agreement with Representatives of Iran, we have mutually agreed that, while the Blockade will remain in full force and effect, Project Freedom (The Movement of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz) will be paused for a short period of time to see whether or not the Agreement can be finalized and signed," the statement reads.

It should be noted that the United States had launched the “Project Freedom” operation aimed at ensuring the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
