U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran had agreed during talks not to seek nuclear weapons.

“Iran cannot have nuclear weapons, and it will not have them. And, among other things, it agreed to that,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

Trump said negotiations with Tehran were continuing and expressed hope that a final agreement could be reached.

Iran has previously said it was reviewing U.S. proposals, but its final position on key issues, including its nuclear programme, has not yet been announced.
