Air traffic at southern Russian airports, including Sochi, was suspended until May 12 after a Ukrainian drone attack hit an air navigation administration building, Russian authorities said.

Russia’s Transport Ministry said operations were temporarily halted at 13 airports, including Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Gelendzhik, Grozny, Krasnodar, Makhachkala, Mineralnye Vody, Nalchik, Sochi and Stavropol.

According to the ministry, the restrictions were introduced after a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle struck an administrative aviation facility in southern Russia.
