Rubio says there has been slight progress in talks with Iran
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said there had been “some progress” in talks with Iran, The Guardian reported.
“I don’t want to overstate it, but there is some progress, and that is good,” Rubio said.
He stressed that Washington’s position remained unchanged: Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon.
Rubio also said the United States intended to address the issue of highly enriched uranium and ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to him, Tehran is trying to create a fee system on the international waterway and is urging Oman to join the initiative. Rubio said no country should accept such terms.
