Iran launches missile attack on Israel

Air raid sirens sounded across parts of Israel after missiles were launched from Iran, according to Al Jazeera.

The Israeli military said its air defence systems were activated to intercept the incoming missiles and added that forces had been placed on heightened alert amid the possibility of further attacks in the coming hours.

The developments follow reports that Israeli forces struck Beirut’s southern suburbs, after which Iranian officials warned of possible retaliatory measures.

Tensions in the region remain high as both sides continue to exchange threats and warnings of further escalation.
