Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said after his parliamentary election victory that the “party of war” had been defeated.

“The people of the Republic of Armenia, through their vote, stood up for the state, independence, the future, peace and the Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan said.

According to Armenia’s Central Election Commission, after 100% of ballots were counted, Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party received 49.81% of the vote and finished first.

The Strong Armenia bloc, led by businessman Samvel Karapetyan, came second with 23.29%.

The Armenia alliance, led by former President Robert Kocharyan, placed third with 9.94% of the vote.
