Georgia plans to deport at least 4,000 illegal migrants by the end of this year, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told reporters.

According to Kobakhidze, there were around 20,000 illegal migrants in Georgia last year.

"Over the past year, Georgia deported more illegal migrants than during the previous ten years combined. Under this year's plan, at least 4,000 illegal migrants will be expelled from the country. This will enable us to completely eliminate this problem within the next four years," he said.

Since the beginning of this year, 2,203 illegal migrants have already been deported from Georgia, exceeding the total figure for 2025 by 70%, according to official data.
